When Michelle Obama, former First Lady and style icon, first published her debut memoir Becoming, it was clear it'd become an instant classic. The book, which was released in November 2018, sold 725,000 copies in its very first day and then went on to become the best-selling book of the year.

And now, the book that details Michelle's life, from her childhood in Chicago to her days in the White House, could become the best-selling memoir of all time. Bloomberg reported that the publisher, Penguin Random House, has now sold almost 10 million copies of Becoming, and Thomas Rabe, the chief executive officer at Bertelsmann, the company that owns Penguin Random House, said, "We believe this could become the most successful memoir ever."

The publishing house reportedly paid $65 million to publish books from Michelle and Barack Obama, and it's expected that Barack's memoir could be out later this year.

Following the release of Becoming, the former First Lady went on a national book tour where she sat down with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Reese Witherspoon. During one event, Barack even surprised her onstage and opened up about first meeting her: "I hadn't met somebody who was that strong and that honest—somebody who I just felt was a rock, [she] was somebody who I knew at that point I would always be able to count on, and someone who that if she was the mother of my children I knew my children would turn out extraordinary."
