Men's Soccer Earns Academic Team Award With Highest GPA in the Country

The Colorado College men's soccer team earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches for the 17th consecutive year with the highest grade-point average of any men's program in the country across all three NCAA divisions during the 2022-23 academic year.

The Tigers, who won the award for the 23rd time overall, posted a combined 3.83 grade-point average, the highest among the 319 men's teams recognized for maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Colorado College is one of only six men's programs among all NCAA Divisions to earn the honor at least 23 times since it was first presented in 1996. Bucknell University ranks first with 25 awards. Anderson University and Carleton College are tied for second with 24, followed by CC, Haverford College and the University of Pennsylvania, all tied for fourth with 23.

"I continue to be amazed by the success of our student-athletes in the classroom," head coach Scott Palguta said. "The academic consistency the players have shown in recent years is simply outstanding.  Our travel demands are always intensive, but last year we played 12 of our 17 games on the road and missed more class than usual, making this academic achievement even more impressive."
