Greetings Fellow Rotarians!

What a fun and exciting time I am having with my official visits to our clubs in 5750. I have now visited 29 out of 34 clubs! I had a wonderful steak and lobster dinner with the Stillwater Centennial Club. They conducted an impressive silent auction for Polio Plus. In
addition, Service Above Self was in action at the Midwest City Rotary Club as I heard about the
numerous projects that the club is doing. I also participated in the swearing-in ceremony of four new members. I am still amazed at the vitality of that club. Soon thereafter, I attended the energetic and civic-minded Midtown Rotarians where fun, food, fellowship and good works were in full display. What fun they are having while doing great service projects on behalf of Rotary.

As I write this report to the membership, my day started with the wonderful stories of community service from our Del City Rotarians. This club meets at 7:00 a.m., and every member is a recognized Paul Harris member. The Del City Rotarians are making a huge
difference in their community and the Rotary Foundation. At noon, I heard a colleague and fellow
Rotarian Trait Thompson’s presentation at the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City. They are the third
largest club in “Rotary World” and have been active in the State of Oklahoma for 115 years! The warmth, fellowship, and service reports were uplifting as well as so many Junior Rotarians in the audience. I love Rotarians, and I love the philosophy of Rotary in action that I am observing in all the clubs I am visiting.

As Rotarian and Foundation Trustee, John F. Germ, reminds us, “Every great project begins in the minds of our members.” I am impressed with the clubs I have visited since assuming the role of District Governor. Let’s continue to improve people’s quality of life in our
communities and our world.

Thank you club presidents, district leaders, RYLA, and district assistant governors for this wonderful opportunity to serve as your Governor.

In Rotary Service,

Deena Fisher
District Governor 2022-2023

Thanks to all that created the passion to launch the Polio Plus Society. I am excited to join a group of dedicated Rotarians in District 5750 that will End Polio Now!
MidAmerica President Elect Training Seminar

The purpose of the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) is to help you to be a club president who has the necessary skills, knowledge, and motivation to lead an effective club. In addition to PETS, club presidents-elect receive additional training at the District Training Assembly.

Attendance at PETS is now required by Rotary International for all presidents-elect in order to serve as president of your Rotary club.

Mara Talek Community Water Global Grant
On July 22, Rotarians from Oklahoma, Arizona, and North Carolina, visited Narok, Kenya, to participate in the dedication of Global Grant 1868701, Mara Talek Community Water Project, Narok County, Kenya. This $145,000 water project included contributions from six Rotary districts and twenty-eight individual clubs including three of our clubs. The project began in 2015 and completed in 2019. The students spent the morning learning about Rotary, meeting one another, and hearing from nonprofit leaders in the community. Then, the students were greeted at the club's November 15th program and introduced to membership. Over the next 6 months, students will participate in service projects, visit the club, write an essay on what Service Above Self means to them, and run a club meeting for their graduation. Our thanks to co-chairs Carole Kelley and Jessica Sherrill for their work and leadership with the students!

Stillwater Frontier Rotary member, Jim Halligan.
