CLEVELAND, Ohio — Mayfield Heights native Josette Galiano is one of nine contestants competing in a new limited series competition titled the “Wrap Battle” debuting at 9 p.m. Monday on Disney’s Freeform channel.
Galiano works full time in Innovation at Nottingham Spirk in Cleveland. She’s also the owner of Florette by Josette, a design firm specializing in creating handmade, floral art installations for events and permanent venues. She has a degree in industrial design from the Cleveland Institute of Art—and she’s also a graduate of Case Western Reserve University.
Contestants battle over who’s the best at gift wrapping and design. Waivers are signed to prevent contestants from divulging too much information, says Galiano.
“There were over 1,000 applicants from all over the country,” she says. “Only nine were chosen to compete, and I was one. I am thrilled to represent Cleveland in this three-week, six-episode holiday series. The best wrapper wins $50,000.”
Contestants had to have a keen sense of design. And really know their way around ribbons and bows.
Celebrity judges are reality TV star Carson Kressley, comedian and co-host of CBS’s “The Talk” Sheryl Underwood, Candy Spelling and chef Sandra Lee.
The show taped throughout last August in Los Angeles.
