Ham Bootcamp includes a series of demonstrations and tutorials designed to help newly licensed Technician, General, and Extra class license holders get on the air and use their amateur radio license. Bootcamp is also a great opportunity for prospective Hams who are interested in seeing what the hobby has to offer.

Ham Bootcamp activities are provided online via a series of sessions geared towards Technicians and prospective Hams and General class licenses and higher Hams. Bootcamp participants will find all of this material interesting and fun no matter what their focus or license level.

Video and presentations from the latest Fall 2023 Ham Bootcamp session are provided below for use by Nashua Area Radio Society Members and Internet SubscribersYou must be Member or Internet Subscriber of the Nashua Area Radio Society (NARS) and be logged into the NARS website to view the videos and presentations.

The Nashua Area Radio Society’s mission is to:

  • Encourage and help people to become licensed and active in the Amateur Radio Service
  • Spark Interest among young people in STEM Education and Careers through Amateur Radio
  • Provide training and mentoring to enable Amateur Radio Operators to improve their technical and operating skills and to be prepared to assist in times of emergency
  • Sponsor on-air operating activities so that Amateurs may practice and fully develop their operating skills and have fun with Ham Radio!

We provide a wide range of training and skills development programs and opportunities to Nashua Area Radio Society members and to the Amateur Radio community as a whole. Some of our many programs include:

  • Tech Night Program which provides training on a wide range of Amateur Radio activities and technical topics
  • Forums where Members and Internet Subscribers can as questions and share projects and ideas
  • License Class Training programs have helped us to license or upgrade over 300 Hams in the last few years. We offer Tech, General, and Extra License, classes. We are now able to provide online license exams for class students!
  • High-Altitude Balloon and other STEM learning programs which bring Amateur Radio to young people

We offer a variety of membership choices including an Internet Subscription option for folks who live outside our area and want to take advantage of Nashua Area Radio Society Training Programs. You can learn more about our programs and membership options here.
