Reflect on the most poignant statements or thoughts derived from the documentary, and how it has changed your perspective regarding inclusion, equity, and basic human rights.

Submit your response in an essay (no longer than 250 words) to hsc-oied@uthsc.edu  for a chance to win a copy of the Book “The Remedy: Queer and Trans Voices on Health and Health Care” by Zena Sherman.

 

“PRIDE with the OIED Team” TABLING EVENT

Stop by our table, take a photo to celebrate the start of the Pride season, and learn about LGBTQ+ resources and local businesses available to on and off campus.

 

“PRIDE in Affirming Care”: Faculty and Community Provider Panel at UTHSC

Wednesday, June 14th | 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm CST | Hamilton Eye Freeman Auditorium, 930 Madison, 3rd Floor

Join OIED and Subject-matter experts for a lunch panel to engage in a discussion on best practices for LGBTQ+ care in Health Education and Healthcare.  We will focus on the local history of LGBTQ+ experiences in Healthcare: Past and Present, to highlight the importance of Affirming Care within Healthcare/Health Education.

Lunch Provided, Registration encouraged.

UTHSC SafeZone Training

Tuesday, June 20th | 10:00 am – 12:00 pm CST | HR Training Room, 910 Madison, Suite 755

UTHSC’s SASSI office, OIED office, and UNITE student group are excited to offer UTHSC SafeZone training! 

UTHSC Safe Zone is a training opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege within the scope of Healthcare and Health education.

Lunch will be provided as well as “UTHSC SafeZone Certificates” upon completion of the training. REGISTRATION REQUIRED
