Matchmaking: Care Current connects clients to ideal senior services

Finding the right caregiver for a senior loved one is not an easy task. By the very nature of the need, the involved families often feel vulnerable in letting others assist with care. And when families turn to senior care agencies for help, they want to know they are getting quality care they can trust.

To assist with finding suitable caregivers, Rachel Fuller has launched a software program that allows senior care agencies to find the best match for their clients’ needs based on skill-set, availability, schedules and more. The Care Current software weighs over 40 factors, including certifications, experience and personality traits, enabling Senior Care Agencies to assign their clients the ideal caregiver. The benefits for the agencies include an increase in both employee and client satisfaction, which translates to lower client attrition.

“The average Senior Care Agency employs over 500 independent caregivers serving 300 clients who are charged with supporting aging adults at home,” explained Fuller. “With employee turnover rates as high as 85 percent and large customer bases, agencies are presently using only location and availability to match clients with caregivers," said Fuller.

Fuller raised $25,000 in May of this year and she is currently seeking to raise and additional $275,000 so that she can scale to senior care agencies all over the country. The startup has two employees now and they have plans to expand the team as the customer base grows.

Driven by the “sense of community” that Memphis offers, Rachel Fuller decided that Start Co. was her first choice for an accelerator program. Having lived in Memphis throughout her college and law school years, she felt Memphis offered an emerging entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as a chance to make a difference in her community.

“I have been in Memphis for the past eight years,” said Fuller. “During that time, I’ve come to consider Memphis my home. There are opportunities for start-ups in Memphis that other cities don’t offer. It’s sort of a small club right now, but you really get to know everyone that way.  Everyone is so willing and even excited to help. Everyone here really wants to see you succeed. Other larger start-up cities don’t seem to have that kind of community.”
