About THCEF

The Tennessee Health Care Education Foundation (THCEF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the ever-increasing challenges in long-term health care, providing scholarship support to students in the long-term care industry and advancing the standard of care given to patients in long-term care facilities. The foundation, established by the members of THCA, was chartered in 1979.

THCEF is governed and managed by its Board of Directors, composed of an elected nursing home administrator from each of the districts of THCA. The board also includes a business, industry or professional leader from each of the three grand divisions of Tennessee, as well. The president, senior vice president and immediate past president of THCA serve as ex-officio board members. The board supervises the activities of THCEF, delegating administrative responsibilities to the executive director of THCA.

If you would like to support THCEF, please complete the online form.

Fair Share Program

Facilities can support THCEF with an annual fair share contribution. The recommended contribution of $200 per facility member is a tax-deductible donation. If every facility participated, THCEF would be able to provide more than $80,000 in scholarship support to individuals in the long-term care industry who are furthering their educational pursuits. 100% of all donations goes directly to applicants in the state of Tennessee.

Legacy of Love Memorial Fund

The THCEF Legacy of Love Memorial Fund is a wonderful way to honor residents in your facility while supporting fellow long-term care employees as they pursue their educational aspirations. Your facility decides how much to donate to THCEF to honor a resident who has passed or for a special milestone.

How it works:

  1. Click here to complete the online form.
  2. You include the contact information for the resident or the resident’s family.
  3. THCEF sends an acknowledgment to the facility as well as to the family of the honoree.
  4. Facilities can be invoiced or pay online.

To learn more, please call (615) 834-6520 or email mthompson@thca.org.

THCEF is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to THCEF are tax-deductible. Checks in support of THCEF may be either corporate or personal.
