Provost’s office recruiting for two academic positions

The Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs is conducting an internal search for two new academic leaders as the office prepares for the arrival of new Provost and Senior Vice President Jayanth Banavar and the retirement of Scott Coltrane on July 1.

The provost’s office invites nominations and applications for the executive vice provost for academic affairs and vice provost for academic affairs. The executive vice provost will be the senior position within the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs, handling academic matters and will report to the provost and senior vice president. The position’s primary focus will be defining and implementing high-priority academic initiatives for the university.

The vice provost will be responsible for developing and executing processes and initiatives critical to the success of faculty at the UO. The vice provost will work closely with the provost, deans, faculty of all schools and colleges, the University Senate, United Academics and other campus bodies. The vice provost reports to the executive vice provost.

Applications are due by June 8. Additional information is available on the provost’s website. Questions about the search should be directed to Melanie Muenzer, the chief of staff in the provost office.
