Extraordinary Care. Up Close.

See firsthand the incredible care our animals receive at the HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center. This state-of-the-art facility allows us to provide expert care to the hundreds of species in our care, all while educating our guests about animal care, conservation and research.

A Destination for Guests

A covered observation deck, featuring tiered seating, allows up to 200 people to witness surgeries and other procedures as they occur. Additional viewing windows look into the neonatal care rooms where guests can watch feedings and the care of the Zoo’s newest additions. View the live camera feed of the neonatal care room below.

Docents, keepers and veterinary technicians will join visitors on the observation deck each day to answer questions and explain the animal care guests are witnessing. Check out our veterinarians' Twitter account for the latest updates!

The clouded leopard cubs have officially outgrown the nursery and have moved to their new outdoor habitat.

More About the Facility

The 23,677-square-foot state-of-the-art veterinary center opened in 2019, replacing a 30-year-old facility that was originally designed to care for indigenous species. In addition to upgraded medical equipment, remote-controlled lighting, cameras and other modern features, the facility is LEED Silver certified for sustainable building design and operations. The building is also home to our Florida Reef Tract Coral Conservation Lab, where 20 species of coral from the Atlantic Ocean are being studied and rehabilitated. Take a look at the facility in this video tour. Explore the veterinary center in person on a Backstage Pass tour.
