NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- They may seem like unlikely hosts for a major yard sale, but this is not your average neighborhood yard sale.

Organized by Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line, the clothes at the Blessings Yard Sale were previously owned by FGL and their friends in the business themselves, and came right out of their closets.

“We brought all of our clothes down to Meet and Greet on 21st Avenue and we're having a closet sale. All of the proceeds are going to the homeless community here in Nashville,” explains Hubbard.

Hubbard is far from homeless, but says it is FGL's privilege and responsibility to help those less fortunate in the place they call home. He says he sees the problem even just walking to his restaurant on Broadway.

“It definitely feels like it's growing over the last few years,” says Hubbard. “Fortunately, I feel like Nashville is a community that loves to give back and help out our fellow humans so we're just excited to be a small part of that and hopefully we can inspire others to do the same.”

All of the proceeds are going to Home Street Home ministries founded by Steven Young, who knows what it's like to have nothing, living on the streets at 52 years old.

“When the economy crashed, my business crashed with it. After the business crashed, the divorce came. After the divorce, I was flat broke,” says Young. “Basically I had nowhere to turn, nowhere to go.”

Young says events like these help his cause tremendously and he's grateful to Hubbard and Kelley for bringing attention to an issue that can be easy to ignore.

“The turnout has been fantastic and let me tell you the country music family here in Nashville have some of the biggest hearts in the world and these two guys and their wives equally so,” says Young.

FGL will also be hosting a special benefit concert Monday for Home Street Home, but that is a private event and ticketed only.
