About Gamal Palmer

 

Gamal J. Palmer is Founder and Principal of Conscious Builders,a global leadership development and diversity and inclusion strategy firm. Palmer is a global expert in organizational leadership and inclusion. Working at the intersection of D + I and philanthropy, Palmer advises individuals, families and corporations on relevant giving practices and developing strategies that align with their social impact values and goals. Palmer has advised influencers and foundations such as Michael Jordan, Simon Sinek, Jason Blum, and Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies to name a few.

Palmer brings a deep understanding of the human condition, an ability to teach his clients and professionals how to leverage their personal stories and authenticities to navigate and overcome differences. As a speaker, his TedX Talk on The Art of Impact and multiple other talks focus on utilizing authenticity, social justice and values to step into your power.

Over the past 15 years, Palmer has worked with hundreds of board members, executives, educators and CEOs to help them strengthen and diversify their boards, teams and organizations. He’s worked with large-scale universities, businesses and nonprofits including ITVS, David Geffen School of Drama At Yale, Tisch NYU Grad Acting + Design Departments, Cornell University, Occidental College, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, Sempra Energy, DreamWorks, Intuit, USC Business School, ITVS and Wexner Heritage Fund, to name a few. Through his signature workshop Diversity Gym, Palmer has worked with 1,000s of individuals to help them find acceptance and foster inclusion.

After having worked with social impact entrepreneurs in over 15 African countries, the Middle East, and the US, as well as being an International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) Aspen Institute, Schusterman Family Philanthropies, Los Angeles Global Justice Fellow and a Durfee Foundation Springboard Fellow. 

Palmer sits on three national boards UpStart Lab, SRE Network and American Jewish World Service (AJWS) and previously served as the Senior Vice President of Leadership Development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.  He is a graduate of Yale University and studies at Oxford University.
