Soddy Daisy resident Sherry Price, owner and creator of 3ChicksCre-8 (named for herself and her two daughters who collaborate on creative projects), says family and friends have urged her to start her own business for quite some time. Having created numerous invitations for her own daughters’ birthday parties over the last 18 years, Ms. Price has plenty of experience creating invitations unlike anything one can buy in a store. These special designs have matched various themes such as a cloth scroll invitation to a Masquerade Ball with party details ironed onto the cloth before it is glued to a dowel rod and rolled with gold cord, an invitation for a Fashion Frenzy party that is shaped like a high heal shoe with stylish felt and fur embellishments, a magazine cover invitation to a 13-year-old’s Makeover and Photo Shoot Event, an invite to a Hollywood Bash that looks like a working clapboard and many more! In addition to their family invitations, Ms. Price branched out a few times to create invitations for close relatives or friends. Now, she is ready to take things to a whole new level.
A graphic designer by trade, Ms. Price says creativity has played a large role in both her career and family life. “We have always had a lot of fun with parties. Once we identified a theme, we just went wild coming up with matching food, games, decorations, and of course, a super cool invitation. After all, the invitation is the first thing your guests will receive and the best way to make a first impression about your event. Why not make it really unique?”
After launching her idea a few months ago, Ms. Price has used burlap and silk leaves to create an outdoorsy wedding shower invitation, and corrugated cardboard, with miniature trees, for a woodland animal baby shower invitation. She can customize a special invitation to match your event theme, create an invitation from an idea that you have or use any number of unique invitations she has developed in the past and adapt them to your special event. She has worked on invitations for girls and boys birthdays, wedding and baby showers, open houses, holiday bashes, and special events (such as golf tournaments, fundraising luncheons/dinners, concerts) and more. Prices are quoted based on each individual job. Although uniquely designed invitations are her specialty, Ms. Price says she also enjoys creating more traditional postcard type invitations as well.
