Details
Based on sources including the writings of Flavius Josephus (or Yosef ben Mattityahu), Legend of Destruction explores the political and religious conflict that led Roman-controlled Judea to war and the destruction of the Second Temple. Created from 1,500 paintings by the artists behind 'Waltz With Bashir,' the film was described by the New York Times as "gripping political thriller" with "ominous lessons from the ancient past" (Isabel Kershner).
This event is sponsored by Feuchtwanger Memorial Library in conjunction with a Special Collections exhibition featuring rare Josephus editions. Visit the exhibit titled "Josephus, Translated and Transformed: from the 1st to the 21st Century" at USC Special Collections on the second floor of Doheny Memorial Library, October 28 to December 18, 2024.
