Beyond Bystander: The Legacies of Jason Washington - De-escalation Training  Workshop Tuesday June 4th noon- 2pm in 294 SMSU (RSVP below)
Reflect - Remember - Renew

Jason Washington's life tragically ended when 9 of 17 gunshots fired by Portland State University campus police officers killed him on June 29, 2018. His death left a wife, three daughters, and grandchildren to grieve as well as a painful legacy for our campus.  In 2021, President Percy appointed a committee charged with memorializing Jason as per the settlement agreement with the Washington Family. To learn more about the Jason Washington Art committee's work see  https://www.pdx.edu/jason-washington-art-committee

"Beyond Bystander" is an open invitation and community convening space for reflection, dialogue, learning, and activism touching the many legacies of Jason Washington for our PSU campus and the larger community.
