Hear Colt Ford’s Blissful New Song With Charles Kelley, Josh Kelley

"Young Americans" appears on Ford's forthcoming album 'Love Hope Faith'

Colt Ford captures a fleeting moment of red, white and blue bliss with “Young Americans,” a new track featuring Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and his brother Josh Kelley from his sixth studio album Love Hope Faith, out Friday, May 5th.

Premiering exclusively on Rolling Stone Country, the song exists in the magic hour of a teenaged American life – flush with passion and possibility (if not cash) and with nothing holding you back. Brothers Charles and Josh (the pop-rock artist behind “Amazing” and “Only You”) slide effortlessly into the nostalgic chorus, while Ford sing-raps his way through each verse.

“Young Americans is ‘feel good,’ it’s ‘sing along’ and it’s ‘all-American,’ Ford explains. “I have always wanted to work with two of my good buddies who just happen to be brothers. Charles and Josh Kelly are two of the most talented guys I know, and it was an honor to have them with me on this song.”

Featuring a twangy trifecta of mandolin, steel guitar and dobro, plus a laid-back harmonica intro and a beat that evokes a Sunday cruise, Ford and the Kelleys sing of living big in a small town, short-term love and lifelong friends. Skynyrd, Petty and fake IDs all bring back happy memories, as do bottom-shelf bottles and Zig Zag rockets.

Long known for filling his albums with all-star special guests, Ford’s Love Hope Faith also features Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, pop-punk group Lit (“My Own Worst Enemy”), Granger Smith, Tyler Farr and more, as well as the already-released songs “4 Lane Gone” and “Reload” (featuring Taylor Ray Holbrook).

Ford will tour throughout the summer in support of his new album, with dates scheduled through October spanning cities from his hometown of Atlanta to Klamath Falls, Oregon.
