Critically acclaimed actor and producer Steven Yeun has amassed an impressive resume of diverse roles and continues to fearlessly evolve his body of work, with lauded performances across the television and film space. Perhaps best known for his role of ‘Glenn Rhee’ on AMC’s The Walking Dead, Yeun originated and developed this pivotal character from the series’ first episode and made him a favorite of both fans and critics alike for seven seasons.
In Lee Isaac Chung’s MINARI, an official selection of the festival—which Yeun also executive produced—Yeun plays a father who relocates his family from California to Arkansas in search of the American Dream. MINARI originally premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, where it won both the Grand Jury and Audience Awards.
Yeun received critical acclaim for his performance in Chang-Dong Lee’s Korean-language film BURNING, an adaptation of Haruki Murakami’s short story, “Barn Burning.” His other recent film credits include Bong Joon Ho’s OKJA, Boots Riley’s SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, and Mike Cahill’s I ORIGINS. His television credits include Jordan Peele’s reboot of The Twilight Zone, Drunk History, and The Big Bang Theory.
Yeun will star alongside Richard Jenkins, Beanie Feldstein, and Amy Schumer in the A24 drama THE HUMANS, produced by Scott Rudin and Eli Bush. Based on the Tony Award-winning play, the film is set at Thanksgiving and follows the Blake family in their run-down Manhattan apartment as they argue and deal with aging family members, illnesses, economic woes and frustrations over religion. Also upcoming, Yeun will be featured as the lead in Amazon Studios’ upcoming animated series Invincible, an adaptation of the comic by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.
