Good morning. I'm meteorologist, Elizabeth Gardner. It was a hot day yesterday. We had 92 officially at RDU the 1st 90 degree day of the year, but we're going to see another one today and possibly more. Next week, we're looking at 90 in Raleigh Durham and Fayetteville for it today. The record today is 93 so we probably won't hit it. It's going to depend on how much cloud cover we see today should be slightly cooler than yesterday because we'll see increasing clouds ahead of the front that comes through over the weekend. That front is also going to bring some more moisture into the atmosphere. So we're looking at our muggy meters starting to creep up. Now, previously, over the last several weeks, we were mostly in the comfy to refreshing zone. We're starting to creep into the sixties. Once we get into the sixties, you can notice that it's humid, it doesn't feel oppressive until we get into the upper sixties to low seventies. And we're not going to quite be there for the next couple of days. But look at Monday and Tuesday, I mean, we're looking at six, 869. We're definitely going to feel that part of the reason for the increase in humidity by say Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is we're going to see an increasing chance for rain. So we'll have additional moisture in the atmosphere because of that, that heat building though, especially next week, we're going to see high temperatures potentially in the mid nineties by Wednesday. So that's going to put us at moderate risk for heat. We'll be talking about what the heat index will be, but most likely with additional humidity, we'll probably be pushing around 100 the heat index and you know, early may we do have, we can rain chances looking at a 50% chance Saturday and Sunday, we definitely need the rain. And what brings us the rain is this cold front that has a history of producing severe storms across parts of the country. Once it crosses the mountains and moves into our area over the weekend, it's going to be much weaker and it will stall here and continue to bring us a chance of showers and thunderstorms. So Saturday morning, we'll see a few isolated showers. There's 6 a.m. there's 9 a.m. I'm not likely to see much rain in any particular day or time. It's just isolated showers, maybe a thunderstorm or two. There's five o'clock, we're not looking at a big line of thunderstorms coming through so it can be pretty difficult to time out exactly when you'll see showers and storms. The best thing to know is about half of the viewing area. Saturday or Sunday. We'll see some scattered showers or thunderstorms on Sunday. It definitely looks more likely later in the day. The later we get in the day, the better chance we'll see showers and storms, but it does look widely scattered so it could be that it stays dry for most of the race or there could be one or two showers or an isolated storm that comes rolling through. We take a look at the seven day forecast. Definitely cooler. Saturday, Sunday and Monday with highs in the low eighties. Again, we're hot today and really hot again for Wednesday and Thursday, just for reference, our normal high this time of year is still in the upper seventies.
