Stevens Math Olympiad 2025 Welcomes Hundreds of Young Problem Solvers to Campus

More than 450 students from across New Jersey gathered on the Stevens Institute of Technology campus in Hoboken, New Jersey, on Saturday, May 17, for the 2025 Stevens Mathematical Olympiad — an annual celebration of mathematical creativity, curiosity and challenge hosted by the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Stevens Institute of Technology recently welcomed local Girl Scouts to campus for two dynamic events designed to spark curiosity in STEM and provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences. Organized by the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science’s Office of External Relations, the events — one hosted in the university’s MakerSpace and the other part of the “See Her, Be Her” career fair — reflect Stevens’ ongoing commitment to outreach and education for young women in science and technology.

SES Assistant Professor Jacqueline Libby spoke about how soft robotics can revolutionize the process of stroke rehabilitation and why they easily integrate with the body. Lighter and less cumbersome than traditional mechanized support frames, these soft exosuits are also eqiupped with biosensors that react to patients' neural signals, forming a feedback loop with patients' brain and muscles.
