Join ADL and OJMCHE for an interactive workshop series for caregivers and youth to build understanding around bias and privilege, and learn skills to support meaningful conversations and activism.

These workshops build on each other for a comprehensive experience. When signing up it is strongly encouraged that you commit to the entire series.

Understanding Allyship

July 15 | 4-5pm PST
Learn about manifestations of bias, reflect on life experiences, and consider the lenses that we bring to difficult conversations. The speakers will share tools to support reflection, meaningful conversation, and action to fight bias.

Curiosity and Questions: Engaging in Difficult Conversations

July 22 | 4-5pm PST
Current issues provide a great opportunity to engage others in rich conversation, share important values, encourage deeper understanding of the news, and distrust bias and prejudice. The facilitators will provide tools and strategies for engaging in these complex conversations.

Activism: What can YOU do?

July 29| 4-5pm PST
Young people are powerful change agents, bringing energy and idealism to movements against injustice. Through historical and contemporary examples, participants will learn about and reflect on 6 tools to engage in activism. This session is guaranteed to have participants feeling inspired and empowered to take action and create a more equitable world.
