NYS Payroll Online (NYSPO)

State Employees
ACCOUNT FEATURES

To change your Address or Contact Info, go to SOLAR->Security & Personal Data

To claim exemption from NY State withholding you must file form IT-2104-E and submit to State Payroll for processing

ACCOUNT SET-UP
ACCOUNT LOG-IN

STEP 1:  If you are logging in for the first time, you will need the following:

⇒ Use Google Chrome, turn off your pop up blocker and clear your cache.
⇒ NetID and Password. For help finding this ID, visit Find My IDs.
⇒ Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number
⇒ NY State Employee ID Number  (Your "N" Number). For help finding this ID, visit Find My IDs.

STEP 2: Log into SOLAR and go to NYS Payroll Online as shown below:

EMPLOYEES: 
Log into SOLAR For Employees → Payroll&Compensation → NYS Payroll Online.

STUDENTS:
Log into SOLAR  → Student Employment Service → NYS Payroll Online. 

STEP 3: Once you are redirected to SUNY Secure Sign On - select Stony Brook campus and "Remember Campus." (Don't forget to Enable Pop-Ups).

STEP 4:  Enter your Net ID/Password when prompted. The system may require you to sign in again. If this happens, please close the browser window and log in again by navigating back to NYS Payroll Online from your open SOLAR browser.

ACCOUNT SET-UP
  • Go to www.rfsuny.org/selfservice
  • Go to Set up your Account
  • Use the RF Employee# provided at the top of your pay stub to validate your account and create a password
ACCOUNT LOG-IN

STEP 1: Login at the top of the home page

STEP 2: Go to the Self-Service link in the Business Application section of the internal site

Stony Brook ID

(Employee ID)

Also known as your Employee ID or SOLAR ID, the Stony Brook ID is your 9-digit unique identifier used for our system of records. It is made up of only numbers, no letters. It can be found on your Stony Brook ID Card. If you do not remember it, you can visit:

NETID

Every active employee is assigned a NetID, which is used to access various computing resources. Your NetID is made up of only letters —  it is a combination of your first and last name. For help logging in for the first time, visit NetID Tool.

Duo Security 2-Step Login is used to protect your account. One time set-up; added security every time you log into our internal systems. Register your 1st device with Duo from the NetID Single Sign On (SSO) page.

  • RF Employees, log into SOLAR 
  • Go to →Security & Personal Data→External Identification Number.
  • Your RF ID will correspond with the Research Foundation external system.

  • Go to→ Security & Personal Data→External Identification Number.
  • Your NYS ID will correspond with the NYS ID external system & start with an “N.”

State Employees

Decline Paper Advices

State employees can decline printed copies of their paycheck advices. Go to→SOLARFor Employees→Payroll&CompensationNYSPO→Go Paperless→Decline printed copy→Save

Enable Pop-Ups

Make NYSPO an Exception
  • Since your paycheck will display in a separate pop-up window, you may need to enable pop-ups.
  • To allow pop ups throughout NYSPO, you can also set an exception in your browser’s privacy settings by adding .osc.state.ny

 

MAKE NYSPO A TRUSTED SITE

Make NYSPO a trusted site!
  • While in Chrome, go to ⇒Tools ⇒ Internet Options ⇒ Security tab ⇒ Select Trusted Sites
  • Open the Sites button and enter https://psonline.osc.ny.gov
  • Choose Add ⇒ Close ⇒OK
