Take & Make Craft: Butterfly Feeder Kit

Friday, June 1010:00 AM—5:00 PMGleason Public LibraryGleason Public Library22 Bedford Road, Carlisle, MA, 01741

Here’s another easy step you can take to help our pollinators thrive – put out Butterfly Feeders at your home!

This fun butterfly feeder  is designed to look like a flower, yet each part of the feeder plays an important role in attracting butterflies.  Inside the green “stem” is a bottle that contains a liquid  butterfly attractant ((non-toxic)). The red color in the center of the flower is an absorbant fabric that wicks the attractant upward and remains saturated with the attractant. The yellow foam flower provides a landing spot for the butterflies to rest while feeding.  Butterflies love the color yellow. Create the flower craft (with a marker included), then place it in your garden or near a window so that you can enjoy watching the butterflies as they land and eat from your butterfly feeder.

Register online for a kit and pick it up any time between Friday, June 10th at 10:00 a.m. and Monday, June 13th  at 9:00 p.m. via in-person or curbside pickup. This craft is for ages 5 and up with help from an adult. Take & Make craft kits are made possible by our wonderful Friends of the Gleason Public Library.
