The CRS Music Test: It Takes All Sorts

The May CRS360 webinar covered various aspects of the music test originally presented at CRS 2023, including its effectiveness, its impact on programming decisions, and the challenges of interpreting the results. The episode will feature a panel of experienced programmers, including Marci Braun from Audacy and Brook Stephens from Leighton Broadcasting. Song Wars

It’s the return of the CRS research Jedi masters,: The NuVoodoo team of Carolyn Gilbert and Leigh Jacobs share a deep dive into music research, exploring the differences in tastes among gender and age groups, newer Country fans, and long-time fans. Results are based on a large sample size and wide demo of adult Country music listeners, NuVoodoo will examine responses provided by active country radio listeners, who were given interesting sets of choices, reporting on the outcome of their findings.


CRS 2023: A Preview

Featuring panelists Joey Tack (CRS ’23 Agenda Chair), Brent Michaels (CRS 2023 Agenda Vice Chair and CRB Board Member), Warner Music Nashville’s Tim Foisset, and Big Machine Records GM Clay Hunnicutt, along with moderator and CRB Executive Director RJ Curtis, CRS ’23: A Preview will focus on what CRS 2023 attendees can expect from the upcoming 3-day event. The agenda committee, CRS staff, and special surprise guests will share information about sessions, panels, and CRS events. How Country Radio Can Save Itself

A followup to the CRS '22 session "Somebody Has To Say It," when CRB Board VP John Shomby challenged the radio industry to think differently, reassessing its strengths and how radio can remain relevant in a challenging media environment. An industry-wide think tank was formed at CRS with the goal of identifying key areas for Country radio to consider; here is an update on the progress, with thoughtful recommendations from an outstanding panel.

Music and song-focused, the June episode of CRS360 is Part II of a follow-up to the research project originally presented at CRS 2022 in February by NuVoodoo. This exclusive bonus material features various song titles, with the primary question: whether listeners think they should be played on Country radio or included in a Country playlist. CONTINUOUS DIARY MARKET MEASUREMENT: AN UPDATE

Nielsen’s plan to implement continuous measurement in 46 diary markets was first announced early in 2019, with details on the rollout previewed during a Country Radio Seminar (CRS) session in February, hosted by Nielsen VP/Audience Insights Jon Miller. CRS promised a follow-up once data began arriving, which occurred in August, reflecting July results. In our 5th episode of CRS360, we will once again feature Miller to share what these results have revealed so far. He’ll be joined by moderator Tom Baldrica, and programming consultant Joel Raab, whose clients include stations in these newly measured markets.
