Grants 4 Teachers

Grants 4 Teachers

The purpose of the Grants 4 Teachers program is to fund highly creative ideas that would otherwise be impossible due to school system funding constraints. Since the Fall of 2009 when Grants 4 Teachers was launched, due to the generosity of local donors the Community Foundation has funded nearly 200 proposals for a total of $98,600.

A strong nonprofit community is collaborative and made up of organizations that efficiently and effectively manage their operations and provide high-quality programs that meet community needs. We believe that one of the best ways to strengthen our community is by helping to strengthen nonprofits. Nonprofits are doing vital, smart, and innovative work every day all over the country.

Our Strengthening Nonprofits Fund provides training for Anne Arundel County nonprofit organizations to develop organizational capacity around fundraising, nonprofit management, board development, marketing & communications as well as other capacity-building opportunities.

Women and Girls Fund

Women and Girls Fund

The purpose of the Women and Girls Fund is to support projects that develop individual skills, decrease isolation, create new experiences and empower women and girls who face major obstacles due to poverty, disability, domestic violence, and/or lack of access to resources.

Grants from the Women and Girls Fund will be used to support nonprofits that help women and girls pursue positive, productive lives by helping remove barriers for women and girls, increase their economic security, enhance their well-being and safety, and empower them to make positive life decisions for themselves and their families.

Help Our Neighbors

Help Our Neighbors

CFAAC's Help Our Neighbors Fund was created in 2008 by our Board of Trustees, to support local nonprofits working with Anne Arundel County's most vulnerable community members. The fund assists with living expenses like paying rent to prevent eviction, utilities to prevent shut-off, fees for transportation to work or car repair, or for essential medication and medical care to return to or maintain health.

Environment Anne Arundel

Anne Arundel County is a place of natural beauty that can be enjoyed through two state parks and 70 county parks linked by an extensive network of recreation and transportation trails. With 534 miles of linear coastline, the county ranks second for waterfront in the state. The Chesapeake Bay is perhaps Anne Arundel County’s most treasured natural resource, constituting the largest estuary in the United States.


The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s (CFAAC) Environment Anne Arundel Fund, established in 2014, supports Anne Arundel County nonprofit organizations working to protect and improve the environment in Anne Arundel County and the Chesapeake Bay.

This fund was created to permanently support grant-making in the area of arts and culture for low wealth or vulnerable residents of Anne Arundel County. It was established in 2012.
Community Crisis Response Fund

Community Crisis Response Fund

The Community Crisis Response Fund was established to provide flexible financial assistance to Anne Arundel County nonprofits immediately following a violent incident, natural disaster or other crisis in our community. Due to the fast-emerging needs posed by the COVID-19 virus, the Community Crisis Response Fund will make single immediate-use grants to nonprofits addressing the increase in community needs and demand for services in the following impact areas: food security and support for basic human needs.

Anne Arundel Women Giving Together

Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) is a women’s giving circle that pools individual contributions for collective philanthropy to improve the quality of life for women and families in Anne Arundel County.

This fund is designed to allow members to pay new and renewal membership contributions and to make additional donations to the AAWGT Grant Fund.

    The fund was created in 2025 to support the philanthropic interests of the fund advisors.

    To provide annual support for CFAAC's Fund for Anne Arundel grantmaking to fund organizations or programs that provide school programs andor after school programs.

    To support the misson of Highland Memorial Presbyterian Church in Winchester Virginia.

    The purpose of this fund is to provide annual support for organizations and programs addressing homeless prevention in the Winchester, VA and AACO AND to support CFAAC's Fund for Anne Arundel.

    The Higgs-Smith Mental Wellness Endowment Fund

    To provide annual support for CFAAC's Fund for Anne Arundel discretionary grantmaking to fund organizations or programs that address mental health and wellness.
