NCTA Adds Amy Bender and Saul Hernandez to Government Relations Team

Washington, D.C. –  NCTA – The Internet & Television Association announced today the addition of two public policy veterans to its Government Relations team.

On September 4, NCTA welcomed Amy Bender, formerly Legal Advisor to FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly, as Vice President, Government Relations and Legislative Counsel. Next week, Saul Hernandez, currently Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. G.K. Butterfield, will join the team as Vice President, Government Relations.

Bender has worked in several roles at the FCC since 2005, most recently as Legal Advisor to Commissioner O’Rielly since 2013. Her other positions at the FCC include Deputy Division Chief and Legal Counsel in the Wireline Competition Bureau and Legal Advisor to former Chairman Kevin Martin. Bender earned a B.A. from Rice University and J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Hernandez has worked with Rep. Butterfield since 2004, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff since December 2014. Previously, he served as Legislative Director and Legislative Assistant for the Congressman, and has significant political campaign experience as well.
