public relations, visual communications and mass communications studies. In other
words, all of the majors in our school. The spectrum of opportunities to tell stories

USC journalism alum wins second Pulitzer
Josh Dawsey, a 2012 University of South Carolina journalism graduate, added a second quill to his Pulitzer cap when he and his Washington Post colleagues received the 2024 national reporting prize for a series of articles exploring America’s gun history and culture.

The Carolina Cup in photos

Josh Dawsey, ’12 journalism, has been awarded a 2024 Pulitzer Prize in the national
reporting category. He shares the award with other members of the Washington Post
staff for the series "The gun that divides a nation, " which examined the impact of the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. This is Dawsey's second
Pulitzer. He's pictured here with USC President Michael Amiridis.
