Toronto hardcore band THE SLIME blends aggression, love for B-movie horror and partying in new single and music video “Real Garbage”

Toronto based wild hardcore punks THE SLIME have shared their new music video for “Real Garbage”. The track comes off of the band’s Living on Borrowed Slime EP out tomorrow via Cursed Blessings Records. It is available for pre-order HERE and will be available on all streaming platforms at midnight.

Comments vocalist Andy MC: “Real Garbage is a sickening abstract that reflects the sound of the complete EP. A party mosher with lyrics that blend our waking nightmares and reality. We are thrilled and chilled to be putting out an EP that shows off the different pieces of our sound. Living on Borrowed Slime has all the disgusting elements that we bring to our music: speed, dissonance, rhythm and rambling. We hope that it excites and engages you in the same way writing and playing these songs has done for us,”

Speaking about their next steps and the nearest future for the band, THE SLIME admits that their goal right now is to keep refining their live set and to get their music out to as many new listeners as possible. “We want to break down the walls that separate the underground music scenes.”

“We plan on gigging throughout Ontario this summer and want to expand beyond the Toronto area with a potential East coast swing in the fall. We have some great gigs lined up but are staying flexible for whatever comes up. Between all that we are using any extra time to write new music…truly living on borrowed Slime”

The Living on Borrowed Slime EP was produced by Nick from Schoolhouse Studios and mastered by Scott Middleton (ex-Cancer Bats).

THE SLIME

It’s a fusion of anthemic and aggressive hardcore punk, the way the subgenre was meant to be played. It’s powered by an array of influences including tinnitus and lounge acts from Hell and proves that The Slime are absolute mutants to watch. The band has come out of the pandemic the strongest version of themselves to date with their new EP. It is the whole package, combining the band’s aggression and apocalyptic worldview with their love for B-movie horror and partying.

This summer, The Slime will be bringing their brutal showmanship to various venues across Ontario with dates in Toronto, Hamilton and Barrie. Tickets are available HERE. Tour dates below!

05.28.22 @ Infinity Zero Barrie, ON w/ AAWKs, Mickey Moone
06.04.22 @ Doors Pub Hamilton, ON w / Rust, Scabs Off
06.24.22 @ Tail of The Junction Toronto, ON w/ Heavy Petter
08.17.22 @ Doors Pub Hamilton, ON w/ Palga, Superdeath, Disrejects

THE SLIME promo

The Slime came out swinging with their first demo in the summer of 2019 and quickly followed it up with their debut album, Bitter Dream. Less than a year later, they released Coming Soon to an Alley Near You EP, which earned the band considerable praise from online critics and radio shows.
