Artist Judy Takacs Hosts Weekly Online Art Salons

Thu 4/16 @ 6PM

Cleveland artist Judy Takacs is best known for her striking and challenging portraits such as those in her Chicks with Balls: Judy Takacs Paints Unsung Female Heroes series, now hanging, but not on view, at the Zanesville Museum of Art, her first solo museum show. As luck would have it, the museum is, of course, closed. The show has been held over through July 18 with the hope that museums will be able to reopen by then.

In the meantime, Takacs is staying connected with her Living Figuratively series, taking place on Thursday evenings @ 6pm on Facebook Live. Each week she’ll feature a figurative work of her own or one from her personal collection and ask, “Why NOT fill your home with the faces and figures of fascinating people you don’t even know?”

On Thursday April 16, her topic is “Wall Full of Small.” She’ll talk about how to decorate your house with affordable small and medium-sized figurative works, showing works by artists such as Carol Arnold, Sadie Valeri, Karen Offutt and Stephen Assael in addition to her own.

You can buy her work at her online shop and she’ll be donating 50% of the proceeds to help those currently struggling in the art community.
