Join us on May 19 when St. B’s own Ginny Lamothe will present a Theology of Hip Hop.Hip Hop aficionados value authenticity above all aspects of Hip Hop music and culture. For decades, this authenticity has been heard through deeply personal and painful autobiographical songs. This discussion will speak to both the historical and theological commonalities of Hip Hop to Confessions of the Church's "OG," St. Augustine of Hippo. Ginny is an Assistant Professor of Musicology at Belmont University, specializing in seventeenth-century music, historical dance, online teaching pedagogy, vaudeville, musical theater, and sound studies. We gather at 7 p.m. for drinks on the patio, and the presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. Created for younger adults but open to anyone, Theology on Tap creates space for connection, conversation, and theology in a casual atmosphere.
