As anyone who has run a multi-agency group will tell you, integrating brilliantly across an agency village takes a lot of time and hard work. This article is really refreshing, in that more people are seeing the logic and potential benefit of more formally integrating client-agency groups under a lead. I bloody love that model and have seen how great it can be when done well. It's routinely the best way to work for the quality of the work, and the teamwork and culture it fosters. It sounds easy. And everyone says they can do this stuff - they certainly try - but it is a specialist skillset that isn't commonplace, everywhere. Knowing enough about each component in the village, while having the fluency to use creativity to tie it all together; that's just different for most agency folk. But if this report is anything to go by, we'll see more of it which will mean some up-skilling or broadening of capability for many. It'll also require a lot of humility and honesty too, because to make this stuff work, you've got to be channel and agency agnostic. Or in simple terms, it requires people to be really honest and interested in solving problems the right way, without playing favourites. Sounds simple, but it's bloody hard work. Get it right though, and it'll be the most fun and most successful time you'll have in this game. Looking forward to seeing more of this. Great stuff.

"Brand Patience" It's hard to understand the importance of patience and consistency when there are short-term pressures on brands and their marketers because of this there's often an urgency to find an idea that can break through the clutter and land the brand on the cultural map. However, there's another way. Create a powerful platform for the brand and consistently execute against this over time. It requires discipline and patience, but it's a little like compound interest- the consistency pays off and reinforces the brand's position. Take VCCP and its work for Cadbury built on a platform of generosity- which, of course. \allows them to do great advertising, but also. supplement it with smart ideas like this one. Creating a breakthrough cultural hit isn't easy. However, having the discipline and patience to stick to a strategy and platform for years is a different kind of challenge.

Incredibly proud to share that PHD UK will extend and expand its 28-year relationship with Sainsbury's, as the UK’s second largest retailer consolidates all of its media planning and buying with the agency. As Sainsbury director of marketing brands Radha Davies told Campaign UK, PHD’s win was the result of how they “articulated a compelling case for a single agency model and embedded this in innovative, insight-based holistic media planning.”     The Sainsbury win marks the second time in the past few weeks that an iconic retail brand has taken a long-term relationship with Omnicom Media Group to the next level, coming on the heels of last month’s decision by Gap Inc. Inc to extend its almost 14-year partnership with OMG. For the UK specifically, it's the latest in a string of wins for OMG that has included luxury automotive manufacturer JLR, national lottery operator Allwyn UK, home appliance brand SharkNinja, and motoring and cycling provider Halfords; as well as sharing in global wins for Uber and global baked goods giant Grupo Bimbo.   Having dominated the UK's net new business ranking for global media groups in 2023 — significantly outperforming its competition — Omnicom Media Group UK appears to be aiming for an encore for 2024. Tomorrow is World Suicide Prevention Day. And today marks the start of the next chapter in our campaign to unite the nation against suicide. Together, adam&eveDDB, the Campaign Against Living Miserably and ITV are launching Missed Birthdays. A campaign to draw attention to the fact that suicidality amongst children and young people is at a record high. 10 years ago, the single biggest killer of young people was accidents. Today it’s suicide. It has claimed the lives of 6,929 young people. Every single one of those lives is represented by a missed birthday balloon: a simple, powerful symbol of the hope, happiness and humanity that has been so tragically lost. It should make you angry. It should make you feel outraged. But it shouldn’t make you feel hopeless. Because we can all play our part in ending youth suicide, for good. Today, we aren’t asking you to donate. The Ordinary, with their latest OOH campaign, has shown remarkable trust in their product being the only star they need for marketing, and I find it absolutely brilliant! There are no celebrities, no flashy ‘clear skin’ promises, and no glossy imagery, which is typically unconventional for a brand in the beauty industry! Their billboards simply maintain a clean aesthetic with a clear and direct message. One particular copy makes a witty remark about how they couldn’t find a celebrity with a biochemistry degree to appropriately convey the brand’s message. I find this understated approach extremely relevant today where customers are growing conscious about the products and brands they choose. #OOHCampaign #TheOrdinary #AuthenticMarketing #BrandCampaign
