Summary:
XI’s internship offers hands-on experience with entrepreneurs working in an innovative environment. This is an opportunity for individuals to apply their unique skills and interests to support startup teams and to support XI in delivering high-quality programming. The internship offers a flexible work environment, including hybrid work and occasional in-person events and meetings. The intern is provided workspace at the XI coworking space during their work hours and is considered a member of the XI staff, responsible for upholding our community values and driving a productive and positive work culture. This position will work with all XI team members and reports directly to the Program Manager or the Director of Business Development and Events.
Key Responsibilities and Available Internships:
- Marketing intern- This position will work closely with XI staff to manage the organization’s social media and marketing channels. Duties for the role include drafting social content, developing newsletters, creating social media ads, and other duties as assigned. XI is looking to hire this role beginning in May 2024. This position will ideally last through the summer and school year.
- Program intern - The program intern focuses on completing projects to support the Accelerator and Survive and Thrive programs. Potential projects could include working with startups in the Accelerator program, supporting application review, market research, and data analysis. XI is looking to hire this year-long role for the 2024-2025 school year.
Requirements:
- Able to keep, maintain, and coordinate multiple schedules and projects
- Entrepreneurial by nature (a self-starter with initiative)
- Proficient in use of technology tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to "think on your feet" and improvise in a quickly changing environment
- Team player and able to interact with various stakeholders to promote the mission of XI
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred, though not required

- Compensation: $15/hr
- Commitment: Year long interns typically work around 5-15 hours a week. Summer interns typically work around 20-30 hours a week.
