Martin ArtQuest® is the Frist Art Museum’s interactive art-making space where guests of all ages get creative with activities that delight and inspire. This award-winning space in Nashville’s premier destination for interactive art experiences—and with good reason.
In ArtQuest, accessible art-making stations—where visitors can draw, animate, make prints, paint, and more—help people of all ages discover their unique talents and voices, celebrate their creative energy, and just have fun!
ArtQuest is looking super stylish with new stations that explore the art of McQueen’s design work and Ann Ray’s photography!
ArtQuest activities change three times a year to coincide with one of our current exhibitions. At this time, we are featuring activities inspired by Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous, on view in the Ingram Gallery from May 30 through August 25. We are thrilled to present twelve never-before-seen design sketches by Lee Alexander McQueen in the space that will serve as prompts for guests to create looks for their own spring/summer ’24 collection with sketches and fabrics. The drawing in the round station features our mannequin glamorously dressed in a McQ line garment with a headpiece inspired by the designer’s elaborate creations. Other exhibition-focused activities include dress-up magnets, a photo framing exercise, and books about fashion and friendship.

- ArtQuest is open the same hours as the museum.
- A visit to ArtQuest is included with museum admission (visitors ages 18 and younger always receive free admission!)
- ArtQuest is designed for individuals and families. However, we welcome group visits to ArtQuest by advance reservation only; availability is limited. For more information, visit our group tours page.

Use oil pastels and scratch tools to create dimensional drawings, sketch a Southern-inspired still life, create a group weaving project, design colorful abstract art, and more!
