It will mean further militarizing space, create a space race in space. Even if he could create something that could stop intercontinental ballistic missiles across the entire US, even just a continental US that leads us vulnerable to some relaunched missiles, dirty bombs, viruses, all sorts of other things. This wasn't a great idea in the nineteen eighties, and it's really not a great idea in twenty twenty five.

I have no doubt that he means it, and a lot of his supporters would like it. I believe that one state of legislator has already introduced legislation to make that happen. I'm skeptical. I'm not sure that a lot of people who want to be president in the United States, which means Donald Trump has to stop being president. So I'm not sure there's a lot of incentive for a lot of his political opponents, even in his own party, to go along.
