Introduction to the Leadership Center
Learn more about the Follett Student Leadership Center and discover what it offers. Briefly explore the six pillars of the Leadership Center; Vision, Integrity, Emotional Intelligence, Collaboration & Communication, Social Responsibility, and Impact as well as resources and programs to enhance the UTA student experience.

Defining Your Leadership
There are over 1,500 different definitions of leadership and this workshop aims to help you create a definition which resonates with you. This session educates participants on the importance of understanding their strengths and growing edges to create impactful leaders while also emphasizing that leadership is a process, not a position. Through reflection, participants will leave the session confident in their core values as a leader.

Creating Conversations that Matter
Effective communication skills help foster an open rapport between leaders and those they’re working with to build a positive and productive environment. With this workshop, recognize and practice the anatomy of successful communication through various scenarios and learn how emotional intelligence allows leaders to foster stronger relationships in personal and professional settings.

Team Dynamics
Even the best of teams can struggle to work together. This workshop uses The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni to recognize common pitfalls of a team such as absence of trust, fear of conflict, lack of commitment, avoidance of accountability, and inattention to team results. Participants will then explore the meaning behind these issues and identify various strategies for overcoming them.

G.O.A.L. Getter
Goals help leaders stay focused on their vision and give direction towards the bigger picture by establishing expectations and guidelines. In this presentation, learn how you as a leader can set smart goals and how to achieve them.

Fundamentals of Feedback
As a leader, being able to give and receive feedback is critical to a team’s success. In this workshop, explore a simple 3-step method for how to process feedback you’ve received and then learn a 4-step exercise for giving feedback. With hands on practice, you’ll walk out of this workshop with a solid foundation on how to approach feedback with less anxiety and more confidence.

CliftonStrengths for Students
After taking the CliftonStrengths assessment, students will be able to explore their top 5 areas of strength as a person and as a leader. This session helps students dive into their personal reports and explore how Strengths is an important and effective tool when working on a team.
