Yearly Meeting Committees and Working Groups Resources for Covid-19

The committees and working groups of Baltimore Yearly Meeting have been collecting information from across our community, and beyond, about how people are responding to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. These have included basic matters such as how to hold Meeting for Worship with social distancing or stay-in-place orders as well as more complex issues like how our society will be changed by these events.

As our groups assemble this information, we will be adding their input to the website. Listed below are the committees and working groups and brief notes of what has been made available so far. There will be links to the detailed information included.

BYM's Peace & Social Concerns Committee asks that you fill out a questionnaire: https://esurv.org/online-survey.php?surveyID=LKMINJ_8bdfe46
The Committee is considering organizing a series of online workshops for Quakers in our region, especially since both the annual Networking Meeting and the planned Committee retreat had to be cancelled. To determine whether or not to go forward with these workshops, the Committee has developed a questionnaire and asks individual Friends, Monthly Meeting clerks, and members of Peace & Social Concerns Committees to respond by May 15. This questionnaire should only take about 5 minutes to complete—and the results will provide critical information to enable us to work collaboratively on issues of importance during this challenging time. Please fill out the questionnaire now! Click here: https://esurv.org/online-survey.php?surveyID=LKMINJ_8bdfe46

Young Adult Friends

Young Adult Friends is a worship group for Friends ages 18-35 with a concern for helping support and encourage one another through the trials and tribulations of young adulthood. We embrace and explicitly include the full spectrum of gender, race and sexual identities. We work to create a space where everyone is safe to connect with Spirit in themselves and others.
We have a variety of online meeting spaces so those within our community can interact and bond based on individual needs and social media habits. In addition to our public social media accounts, we maintain an active Discord server for ongoing YAF discussion of memes, spirituality, and community planning. In light of recent feedback within the community, we have also begun virtual gatherings where YAFs can come together during this time of distancing for potlucks, movie nights, game nights, conversation (both business and social) and worship.
Anyone is welcome to follow us on our public accounts (Instagram and Facebook); if you are a YAF not currently active within our online community but would like to be, please email us at bym.youngadultfriends@gmail.com so we may beam you up. Love and Light from a safe measure until we can gather once more, The BYM Young Adult Friends
