Scott Borchetta is the Founder, President and CEO of Big Machine Label Group, the No. 1 independent record label in the world home to superstars such as Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett and many more. With Borchetta at the helm, Big Machine has celebrated monumental success since the company’s inception nearly 15 years ago. Borchetta has led the charge on more than 65 million albums sold by Big Machine artists in addition to sending over 200 singles to #1 on the Country, Pop and Rock charts. For his groundbreaking business savvy, Borchetta has been tapped for Billboard’s Power 100 list and Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business as well as being honored with the Music Business Association’s prestigious Presidential Award for Outstanding Executive. Borchetta joined the ranks of past executives who have been recognized for their outstanding vision, leadership, and commitment, including Dick Clark and Clive Davis. Through an unprecedented deal in 2012, Borchetta made history through an agreement with iHeart Radio to secure sound-recording performance royalties for Big Machine and its artists. This contract with the largest owner of U.S. radio stations became the first time in the history of the United States that artists and labels would get paid for their sound recordings on terrestrial radio stations. Under Borchetta’s leadership, Big Machine artists have won multiple Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and more. He served as Executive Producer on the critically acclaimed and Grammy-winning documentary GLEN CAMPBELL…I’LL BE ME, which also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. During the final two seasons of FOX’s American Idol, Borchetta served as in-house mentor and guided contestants throughout the competition as well as signing the winners to record deals. In a partnership with Canada’s mega-media conglomerate Bell Media, Borchetta launched two seasons of the original music format The Launch where he served as a part of the on-screen mentor panel and served as Executive Producer. In July of 2020, Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group was acquired by Ithaca Holdings. Borchetta remains President and CEO of Big Machine Label Group and is a minority shareholder in Ithaca. Additionally, he sits on the board of Ithaca and oversees the holding group’s recorded music companies.
