CNI-ARL Digital Scholarship Planning Workshop

Brown University  •  Providence, Rhode Island
November 8–10, 2017

Description

In this participatory workshop, attendees will explore models and best practices related to institutional planning and support for digital scholarship. The collaborative, interactive workshop is designed both for those in the beginning of a planning process and for those from institutions seeking to take their services and expertise to the next level.

Upon return to their institution, attendees will be able to present a case for initiating or expanding a digital scholarship program or center. Participants will be prepared to speak to each of the topics included in the workshop and will develop a set of action items from an approach that addresses their local context.

We anticipate that participants will gain knowledge of:

  • Developing strategies for setting priorities
  • Maximizing capacities of funding, staffing, and partnerships
  • Building cohesive services within the library and across campus
  • Crafting an organizational model

  • Anticipating and Assessing Needs
  • Staffing
  • Governance and Funding
  • Initiatives in Teaching & Learning and Research
