Led by individuals with lived experience to enhance the field of peer recovery support services.
About us
The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence (PR CoE) has been funded since 2020 by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration to provide training and technical assistance to the peer workforce, recovery community organizations, and other organizations in the ecosystem of recovery to support the implementation of peer recovery support services. The PR CoE is housed at the University of Missouri Kansas City as part of its Collaborative to Advance Health Services. The PR CoE envisions a world where the peer workforce is diverse, understood, valued, trained, and integrated across systems. The four pillars that we seek to uphold through our work are social justice and equity, values rooted in recovery, peer leadership, and multiple pathways to recovery. The PR CoE provides training and technical assistance to build and elevate an equitable peer workforce to deliver peer recovery support services. We accomplish this through supporting peer integration; Recovery Community Organization capacity building; peer workforce development; evidence based practice dissemination; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Calling all peers and recovery staff who manage their organization’s evaluation programming—we want to hear from you! The PR CoE has been hosting monthly Program Evaluation & Research Learning Exchanges this year for staff from recovery organizations and peers who are interested in learning more about evaluation planning and implementation, assessment, and research engagement. The goal of these sessions is to create space for shared learning, networking, and growth. For our session on June 25th, we will be hosting space for folks to share and present on their own program evaluation processes. It will be an opportunity to discuss successes, challenges, and network with other participants. We have space for 4 – 5 presenters and will compensate you for your time. If you’re interested in presenting, please reach out to Shannon Roberts at slroberts@umkc.edu. And don’t worry! If spots fill up too quickly, we’ll schedule an additional session to make sure everyone can be included. Learn more and register here: https://ow.ly/YtRU50RxKwV
