Central College track and field coaching staff members Brenda and Jim Fuller will join the Northern State University (S.D.) Athletics Hall of Fame. The wife-husband duo will be among seven inductees featured at a Sept. 25 banquet at the Dakota Event Center in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The Fullers coached at Northern State, an NCAA Division II school, for 24 years.

Jim Fuller, now associate head coach for Central’s women’s and men’s squad, was the Northern State cross country coach from 1988-2003 and the head men’s and women’s track and field coach from 1988-2012.

Brenda Fuller was head assistant track and field coach at Northern State from 1988-2012, focusing on the throwing events. She was tabbed as the USTFCCCA Division II Central Region assistant coach of the year in 2009. Her Northern State athletes received all-America distinction 12 times with four league MVP awards and 74 individual league titles.

At Central starting with the 2013 season, she’s worked with athletes in the javelin and shot put as well as with the throws in the multi-events. Her Dutch athletes have won seven league javelin titles with eight all-America awards. She’s worked with multi-event athletes who have claimed five Division III championships.
