Camps for Everyone

The fun doesn’t stop during the summer at Father Ryan! Our courts, fields, stages, and classrooms are alive with fun in our highly sought-after summer camps. From baseball and dance to chess and lacrosse, we have something for all interests, abilities, and age levels.

Registration is simple. You can register one child or multiple children for as many camps as you want, all at once. You can also add more camps at a later date and check the schedules without having to reenter your contact information.

What to Bring

Some camps require participants to bring their own equipment, such as a ball or glove with the camper's name on it. Appropriate clothing for outdoor camps is also requested. Campers are welcome to bring a snack or drink.

All-Sports Camp

Boys Basketball Camp

Session 1: May 28-31

The camp is led by the two-time State Championship Coach Doug Bontrager '81, the Father Ryan coaching staff, and present and former Irish players. The mission of the camp is to help young players learn the skills to take their game and life to the next level. Each day the campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game with an emphasis on: shooting, ball handling, defense, rebounding, and team play. Campers will also get the opportunity to improve their skills during the course of the day by participating in both individual and team games. Besides developing basketball skills, the camp staff is committed to working with your son to improve himself as a person. Daily talks will include topics on character traits such as leadership, hard work, commitment, discipline, and being a good teammate. Come dressed and prepared in basketball attire and ready to have fun!

Boys Lacrosse Camp

Session 5: July 8-12

Come see why lacrosse is the fastest growing team sport in the country. In this camp, players will learn (or enhance) the skills required to be the best lacrosse players they can be. The skills covered will be:

Camp Ryan

All Sessions

12:00-4:00pm

$155 - Designed for K-8th Graders

Camp Ryan is an afternoon camp offered during all sessions from 12:00-4:00pm. Campers will be provided a lunch to eat during lunchtime from 12:00-12:45pm. From 12:45-4:00pm, campers can enjoy a variety of activities, including movies, dodgeball, slip n' slide, sand pit, and kickball!

If you are not attending a morning camp and only attending Camp Ryan, campers will not receive the provided lunch, and can be dropped off at 12:45pm.

Cardboard Land

Session 6 & 7: July 15-19 & July 22-26

Get your creative juices flowing. Cut, bend, saw, and create with cardboard all week long! In addition to guided creations, students will also work on their own personal projects like a small house, sword, shield, clock, marble run, helmet, labyrinth, an arcade game, or whatever their minds can imagine. You’ll plan, design, and create whatever you want. We will be using cardboard saws and low-temp hot glue guns during this camp.

Cheerleading Camp

Session 2: June 3-7

Instruction includes basic cheer techniques, jumps, a spirit dance, and a variety of cheers, chants, and stunts. Cheerleaders will be divided into age-appropriate groups. Daily snacks and drinks will be provided. (Please let us know if your child has a food allergy.) Campers, led by the Father Ryan Cheerleaders, will perform at the end of the week.

Chess Camp

Session 1: May 28-31

Chess camps is for kids of all levels who can enjoy exploring the game's history, as well as learning the basics of the board and pieces, capturing, and strategy. Even those who are new to the game can gain independence and confidence when competing. Experienced players will also benefit from learning about competition conduct, rankings, and opportunities for further play.

CPR & First Aid

Session 3 & 6: June 10-14, 2024 & July 15-19, 2024

Interested in a health career or learning a lifesaving skill? Our Head Athletic Trainer will be teaching the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course for a week to those campers interested in learning how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years and will satisfy Girl Scout and Boy Scout badges in all ranks.

Dance Camp

Come join us this summer at our FRHS Summer Dance Camp!

Each day your dancers will explore the styles of Ballet, Jazz and Musical Theater dance using some of their favorite music from pop stars to favorite movie show tunes. We will start each morning with a fun warmup and learn proper technique as we learn energetic routines to perform for our end of the week showcase.

Your dancers will love learning along some of our very own FRHS dance company members who will be assisting each day to ensure your child has the best, most safe experience throughout the week.

Girls Basketball Camp

Session 3: June 10-14

The Father Ryan Girls Basketball Camp concentrates on teaching players the fundamentals of the game. Ball handling, passing, shooting, and footwork will all be taught, along with offensive moves and defensive positioning and techniques. In addition to skill work, players' mental approach to the game will be addressed and the importance of teamwork will be discussed. All girls will need to bring a basketball to camp each day.

Girls Lacrosse Camp

Father Ryan Girls Lacrosse Coach Susan Ellis will guide campers through the techniques needed to develop their lacrosse skills.

Irish Angler Fishing Club

Session 1: May 28-31

At fishing camp, the kids will get to learn the basics of fishing, travel to an off-campus lake to learn different tactics for catching fish, and learn the following:

Fishing safety
License requirements
Different types of fishing rods-reels and their compositions:
Freshwater species
Casting
Choosing bait
Nature's effects on fresh-water fishing
The correct way to handle your catch
Catch limits for various locations and species

Irish Baking Camp

Session 1 & 2: May 28-31 & June 3-7

During this fun and interactive session, campers will learn how to make a variety of confections. If you love to bake or want to learn how, this camp is for you! Recipes will include cupcakes, cookies, truffles, and more. Campers will build a recipe collection throughout the session and will hold a baking showcase at the end of the week.

Junior Baseball Camp

Father Ryan's Baseball Camp is a good opportunity for players to fine tune their skills. Campers will be instructed on defense, hitting, base running and pitching.

Nerf it Up - Rivals

Session 6: July 15-19, 2024

Campers will battle with Nerf blasters in multiple team games and in some individual games. Play capture the flag, the hunger games, single elimination and more. You’ll only stop playing when you’re out of breath or for a quick water break. We will provide the Nerf Blaster and eye-wear protection during camp.

Science Guys - Crime Scene Investigation

Session 6: July 15-19

$230 - Designed for Rising 3rd-7th Graders

Calling all young detectives! Step into the shoes of a real-life investigator at our Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) themed Summer Camp. This camp is perfect for kids with a passion for solving mysteries and cracking codes. Campers will learn the art of forensic science, from collecting evidence and analyzing fingerprints to deciphering clues and piecing together puzzles.

Our experienced instructors will guide campers through exciting investigative scenarios, teaching them the skills needed to become top-notch detectives. Join us for a summer of intrigue, teamwork, and adventure as we unlock the secrets of the CSI world!

Any crimes discussed in this camp will be age appropriate and will not be violent.

Science Guys - Space & Rocketry

Session 4: June 17-21

Blast off into a summer of interstellar adventure at our Space and Rocketry themed Summer Camp! Aspiring astronauts and space enthusiasts are invited to embark on an out-of-this-world journey. Campers will explore the wonders of the cosmos, build and launch multiple rockets, and learn about the planets, stars, and galaxies that fill our universe.

Our instructors will inspire a love for space exploration as campers engage in hands-on experiments, exploring the cosmos, and thrilling rocket launches. Join us for a summer of cosmic discovery, friendship, and excitement as we reach for the stars and dream of exploring new frontiers!

Senior Baseball Camp

Session 2: June 3-7

The Father Ryan Soccer Camp is a coed camp geared towards the players who wants to push themselves for success at a higher level. The training sessions involve working on one’s technical ability (foot skills, etc.), tactical ability (understanding the game) through small sided and large sided matches, and having fun.

Softball Camp

Session 1: May 28-31

The Father Ryan softball camp provides quality softball instruction on softball fundamentals and improvement in all areas of the game. Emphasis will be on fielding, hitting, bunting, and baserunning. Each day, campers will have the opportunity to improve their skills and softball knowledge with the help of head coach Ashlee Doyle, and current and alumni Father Ryan Irish softball players.

Stop-Motion Art Camp

Sessions 2 & 3: June 3-7, 2024 & June 10-14, 2024

$200 - Designed for Rising 5th-8th Graders

This is an introductory stop-motion camp. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of stop-motion, photography, film, or other art forms, although some prior knowledge/experience in the arts would be beneficial. You will create stop motions animation films individually and/or in small groups. Students will develop short films using smart devices (smart phone or tablet preferred) and learn how to develop basic storyboard ideas, use a variety of materials, add sound, voice, music, text, and more.

Volleyball Camp

Session 6: July 15-19

Junior volleyball Camp is designed to grow rising 5th-8th grade athletes knowledge in the fundamentals of passing, setting, attacking, serving, blocking, and defense.

The camp focus also include themes such as serve receive patterns, team defense and offense, "Out of System," and competition.

Wrestling Camp

Sessions 1 & 4: May 28-31 & June 17-21

Learn the fundamentals of one of Father Ryan's most storied sports from Coach Pat Simpson '74, the namesake of the Pat Simpson '74 Wrestling Center. 1st-8th graders are invited to get on the mat and find out if becoming an Irish grappler is something they can look forward to in high school.
