Galloway, NJ – Stockton University men's track & field team members received two major NJAC postseason awards for the 2019 season.
Tom Strychowski (Lanoka Harbor/Lacey Twp.) was voted Thomas M. Gerrity Co-Most Outstanding Athlete and
Joe D'Amico (Bayville/Central Regional) was chosen NJAC Co-Outstanding Track Athlete.
Strychowski and D'Amico were joined by 10 teammates for a total of 12 Ospreys who earned all-conference status with their performances at the NJAC Championships, which were held at Stockton last weekend. The Ospreys placed second at the conference meet, tying their best finish ever and gathering the highest point total in school history with 172.
Strychowski earned an NJAC First Team spot as the conference champion in the discus and also snagged an NJAC Second Team nod as the runner-up in the shot put at the meet. D'Amico picked up an NJAC First Team honor by winning the 1500m and qualified as NJAC Honorable Mention with third place in the 800m.
Keith Holland (Bayville/Central Regional) snagged his second straight NJAC First Team recognition by repeating as the conference champ in the pole vault and
Hunter Daly (Florence/Florence) Holland on the NJAC First Team by winning the high jump over the weekend.
Along with Strychowski and D'Amico,
Darren Wan (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) and
Tyler Anzisi (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) made it four Ospreys who garnered two all-conference accolades apiece. Wan registered an NJAC Second Team spot in the hammer throw and NJAC Honorable Mention in the discus while Anzisi was NJAC Second Team in the discus and NJAC Honorable Mention in the shot put.
NJAC Second Team status also went to
Qudratullah Qadiri (Ocean Twp./Ocean Twp.) in the pole vault,
Christian Mele (Cherry Hill/Cherry Hill East) in the 800m and
Cooper Knorr (Manalapan/Manalapan) in the 10,000m. All three posted runner-up finishes in their events at the NJAC Championships.
Andrew Kelly (Bayville/Central Regional) in the high jump,
Matthew Carter (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) in the pole vault and
Jordan Aughenbaugh (Marlton/Cherokee) in the decathlon all earned NJAC Honorable Mention kudos for their efforts last weekend.
