In conversation, do you take the time not only to hear what is being said, but also to listen and understand? Or do you let the words go in one ear and out the other while focusing on how you will respond?

Awareness of your listening habits can help you to avoid miscommunication and frustration by actively seeking to understand the message and viewpoint of the other half of the conversation.

We’ll explore the types of listening and when they’re appropriate, the challenges to good listening, and discuss some good listening behaviors.

Open to all members of the campus community.
