About me
My journey as a birth worker began with my pregnancy with my son Sage. My husband and I were excited to become parents, and I quickly chose a homebirth, which was a profound spiritual experience. I discovered my strength and the power everyone holds in bringing their babies into the world. This inspired my passion for womb wellness, fertility, pregnancy, birth, and herbal support. I wanted to support parents, especially postpartum. I attended a labor doula workshop at Birthingway College of Midwifery in 2019 and the Doulas of Color Business Workshop in 2020. Shortly after, I started my own practice, Hózhó Full Spectrum Care, and have since supported over 50 families.
I was born and raised in Tulsa, Ok, and have lived in Portland for the past 10 years with my husband, my two sons Sage, and Sterlin, and 2 cats, Bev and Carol. I am a Diné adszáán (Navajo woman) who is strongly passionate about herbal support, anything wellness, reproductive health, and justice. I come from a strong lineage of Diné who have passed down to me what it is to be an Indigenous person in this modern world we live in now and how balance is key to life.
My approach is a fusion of Holistic, Spiritual, and with Evidence-Based Information!
Birth is 100% spiritual and physiological. You are bringing another life through from a spiritual portal, you and your baby work together to do this. That alone is such a transcendent interconnected journey. Not one birth is the same, each is different and unique, your story is yours and yours alone. This time can be raw, delicate, and altering, my goal for you is to feel heard, safe, and supported throughout your entirety of care. I provide informational, emotional, herbal, spiritual, and physical support to reach healthful and informed care.
MY VISION
Is to decolonize the birth narrative, by bringing awareness for the importance of advocacy for Black, Indigenous, Latina/x, Asian, and other people who identify as POC. My hope is to improve the maternal and infant mortality rates among Black and Indigenous communities with more education surrounding pregnancy, labor + birth, lactation, feeding, and newborn care support.
