Scholarships available for SUNY’s next Grants and Proposals workshop

The SUNY Center for Professional Development will offer a 12-week workshop, Grants and Proposals: If you write it, they will fund!, from Jan. 5 – March 29, 2021, and a limited number of scholarships are available to support faculty and staff in pursuing this opportunity.

The virtual workshop outlines the components of a successful proposal, with guidance on how to improve your chances of getting funded, how to write concisely and effectively, and what collaborative resources are available before you submit.

The course is offered online and asynchronous in Blackboard, in a format including interactive lessons and activities, independent grant writing work and dialogue with peers from throughout the SUNY system.

New Paltz faculty are encouraged to apply for a SUNY Research Foundation scholarship to support enrollment in this course. The deadline to apply is Dec. 15.

Please note that while the text for this course, “Writing Successful Science Proposals,” 3rd edition, by Andrew J. Friedland and Carol L. Folt, is written with a focus on the sciences, the course and its lessons are relevant across the disciplines.
