Department of Residence Life schedules additional drop-off day for Aug. 7

The Department of Residence Life will add an extra drop-off day on Friday, Aug. 7, for resident students and families who would like to bring belongings to campus and get situated in their rooms before the move-in days later this month.

Students are welcome to enter their buildings for drop-off hours on Aug. 7 from 1 – 2:15 p.m. and 2:45 – 4 p.m.

As a reminder, the drop-off days began on July 26 as an opportunity for families to help new and returning students set up their on-campus residences.

While students are not required to come to campus on drop-off days, this is their only opportunity to move belongings into their rooms with assistance from family members.

During the move-in days beginning Aug. 16, only building residents will be allowed to enter residence halls, in order to minimize social density and reduce the likelihood of COVID-19 transmission. Additionally, Department of Residence Life staff will not be assisting students with their belongings on move-in days this year.

The Department of Residence Life asks that students who wish to come to campus during drop-off hours on Friday, Aug. 7, should please get in touch with their roommates now, so that roommates can coordinate different times for dropping off and maintain social distancing during this process.
