Radnor, Pa. – Stockton University (7-1) swept Cabrini (4-1) 3-0 for its third straight win and seventh in eight matches this season. The Ospreys relied on a balanced attack, with 14 players seeing action in the match.
Jocelyn Holobetz (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) paced Stockton with nine kills followed by
Charlotte Leon (Northport, N.Y./Northport) with eight kills. Leon and
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) contributed four blocks apiece.
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) dished 27 assists while
Natalie Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) scooped 17 digs for the Ospreys.
The first set was tied at 22-22 when Stockton reeled off three straight points for the 25-22 win. Holobetz and Leon spiked one kill apiece during the spurt.
The second set, like the first, was tight throughout before the Ospreys pulled away late. Trailing 20-18, Stockton closed with a 7-2 run to again prevail 25-22.
Christie Louer (Clifton/Clifton) sparked the rally with three kills followed by Leon with two.
In the third set, the Ospreys broke out to a 9-4 lead and never looked back. The margin later was 18-9 after two straight aces by Miller and Stockton closed out the match 25-19.
Stockton will visit Muhlenberg College for a tri-match on Saturday. The Ospreys will play Haverford at noon and the host Mules at 2 p.m.
