Tool Time was the name of Tim Taylor's handyman show-within-a-show on Home Improvement.

The series Home Improvement aired from 1991-1999 on ABC. It featured the trials and tribulations of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor (Tim Allen), the host of a handyman TV show called Tool Time, assisted by Al Borland (Richard Karn). Tool Time's humor often revolved around cars, toys, tools, hardware shops, garages, and fix-it-up projects.

Tim Taylor and his wife Jill (Patricia Richardson) were raising three mischievous boys, which provided more antics for the series, as did the eccentric neighbor behind the fence, Wilson Wilson, Jr. (Earl Hindman).

Home Improvement was hugely popular with fans as well as critically acclaimed. It received 62 nominations and won a total of 43 awards from organizations including the Primetime Emmy Awards, American Television Awards, ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards, Golden Globes, and Kids' Choice Awards.

The character of Tim Taylor was ranked #20 in TV Guide's list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" in the June 20, 2004 issue.
