ExL Students, Gabriella Marquez and Jaylah Wilson, raise concerns over faculty diversity in the Political Science Department in the latest edition of the Daily Trojan! In a letter to the department, the two Agents of Change students advocate for students of color as they seek more diverse political science faculty and socially conscious American politics course offerings. In an effort to make a difference, the two mobilized students to email over 100 Black and Latinx professors across the US. https://lnkd.in/gkkzUEB6

USC Prison Education Project is looking for student volunteers! USC PEP will be collaborating with The Social Impact Center to facilitate a series of expungement clinics this summer and the upcoming semester. The expungement clinics seek to address the issue of equal access being providing to individuals with prior convictions on their records. They are often disqualified from accessing adequate and humane housing, employment and educational opportunities, and much-needed public services. SB 731 creates a path for more than a million Californians to achieve greater stability and wellbeing and USC PEP is looking to make sure that happens! ✌🏽❤️💛 🔗Sign up with this link https://lnkd.in/g7B2nxbF

Introducing ExL Passport: Costa Rica 🇨🇷 This week, we are highlighting GERO489’s course, “Finding the Key to a Long, Happy Life in Nicoya, Costa Rica’s Blue Zone.” 🏝️ Wendy Sandoval, Class of 2023, spent her last month as an undergrad in Costa Rica and shared her experience with us: “My last few weeks as a USC student were spent with good food, forest bathing, salsa dancing, and learning the key to a long happy life in a Blue Zone! Costa Rica brought me closer to professors and friends who made the trip even more memorable. While being there I learned the value that spirituality, well balanced meals, and physical exercise have in our lives. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to travel and learn from the locals. With everything that I’ve learned, my only hope is to continue living out a fulfilling and happy life.
