Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University track & field student-athletes
Susann Foley (Tabernacle/Seneca) and
Darren Wan (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) are part of a group of 200 college student-athletes who will attend the
2022 NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis on June 2-5.
The NCAA Career in Sports Forum brings selected student-athletes together for a three-day event at which they will learn about and explore potential careers in sports, particularly college athletics. The program includes keynote speakers, panels and breakout discussions on a variety of topics designed to present a thorough understanding of athletics as a career path.
The forum also presents opportunities for attendees to network with their student-athlete peers as well as administrators at the school, conference and national levels of college athletics. The conference will take place at the NCAA National Office and include student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions.
Foley is an Exercise Science major at Stockton whose specialty is the high jump. The junior is a three-time NJAC champion and three-time USTFCCCA All-Region performer in the event. Last year, Foley was voted NJAC Outstanding Field Athlete after winning the high jump and heptathlon at the NJAC Outdoor Championships.
Foley qualified for a spot in the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in the high jump, but the meet was canceled due to COVID. She boasts 13 career wins in the high jump plus one in the heptathlon in her only time competing in that discipline.
Wan, who received his MBA from Stockton on May 13, is a three-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships in the throwing events. He will finish his career by competing in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. Wan was in the same event at the NCAA meet last year as well as the weight throw at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
Wan earned USTFCCCA All-Region status in the weight throw during the 2022 indoor season and hammer throw for the 2021 outdoor season. He and Foley are likely to receive All-Region accolades for the 2022 outdoor season when they are announced in the coming days. Wan also has collected four NJAC All-Conference honors during his outstanding career.
