Guidance on connecting to campus wireless network following security certificate update

On May 31, Instructional Technology Services staff updated a required security certificate used by all wireless devices that sign into the “NP Hawks WPA” campus wireless network.

Following the change, users of all wireless devices running Windows, Mac OS X, and iOS (including iPhone, iPad) may notice that their devices are no longer connected to the “NP Hawks WPA” network. These devices are designed to notice that the security certificate has changed and will refuse to connect again until the user of the wireless device acknowledges the change.

Users of these devices can manually reconnect to the “NP Hawks WPA” network by selecting it from the list of available wireless networks on their devices, and then following the on-screen prompts to accept or trust the new certificate. This will only need to be done one time per device. This change does not affect the use of other wireless networks.

For detailed instructions on how to connect your wireless device to the “NP Hawks WPA” network, please visit the online resources on Wireless Network Access, call the IT Service Desk at 845-257-HELP (x4357), or visit the IT Service Desk in Humanities 103.
